Children, families and community groups are invited to decorate their bicycles and take part in the annual Fourth of July Bicycle Parade in downtown Cochran.
The fun begins Thursday, July 3, at 12:30 p.m. at Daylight Donuts, where children can decorate their bicycles before the parade. Decorations will be provided while supplies last, or participants are welcome to bring their own patriotic decorations.
The parade will take place Friday, July 4, with participants asked to line up in front of the Bleckley County Courthouse at 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin at 6 p.m.
Hosted by the Pilot Club of Cochran, the event is open to kids, families and clubs. Helmets are strongly encouraged.
Awards will be presented in several categories, including Most Patriotic, Most Creative, Funniest, Best Group/Family, and the Judges’ Favorite.
The bicycle parade is one of several community events planned as Cochran and Bleckley County celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary. Families are encouraged to come out, decorate their bikes and enjoy an evening of patriotic fun in downtown Cochran.
