More than 65 adults and children gathered Friday afternoon for a special Story Time event at the library, where books, learning and live animals combined to create a memorable experience for local families.

Runners and walkers will once again lace up their shoes this summer as the Liberty Run returns as part of Cochran-Bleckley’s Fourth of July celebration.

“I’ve always kind of known I wanted to be a teacher,” he said. “Teaching and nursing both run in my family.”

More than 300 adults and children filled the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library Wednesday, May 27, as the community gathered to celebrate the launch of the library’s annual summer reading program.

It is easy in today’s world to focus only on big titles, big opinions and big personalities. Social media tends to reward the loudest voices in the room. But real life usually works a little differently.
I have stood where this little boy is standing. He doesn’t want to show his parents his report card. My grades were never that bad, but there were times when they didn’t meet my mother’s standards.
I’m going to begin this by saying that this post is not for the weak of heart…or the weak of stomach. If you get queasy by reading about puppy mishaps or janky joints, you may want to sit this one out.
