If you’re making plans for Saturday night’s Fourth of July celebration and wondering where to watch the fireworks, The Ledger has the answer.

After receiving questions from readers, The Ledger contacted Downtown Development Authority Director Ken Land by phone today for his recommendations.

According to Land, the fireworks will be launched from the area near the City of Cochran Fire Department. Some of the best viewing locations include the Food Depot parking lot on West Dykes Street, the area near the railroad tracks, and around First Baptist Church heading back toward downtown.

Land said these areas typically offer some of the best views of the fireworks display. He also encourages everyone to arrive early, as popular viewing spots are expected to fill up before the show begins.

Those attending are reminded to park safely, avoid blocking driveways, intersections, or roadways, and follow directions from law enforcement and event staff.

The Ledger wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July celebration.
