Ever since I was five years old, I knew I wanted to be a newspaper reporter. By the time I was ten, I dreamed of owning my own newspaper. That passion has shaped my life and my career for more than 30 years, taking me across Georgia, Texas, and Alabama, and allowing me to share stories that matter.
For me, journalism has always been about telling both sides of the story and letting readers form their own take on the truth. And just as important, I have always wanted to highlight the positive, to shine a light on the people, businesses, and events that make a community thrive.
Years ago, my dad and I launched an online edition of a newspaper together. It was a glimpse of the future—and proof that dreams can be realized with hard work and heart. But the call of print journalism was strong. Once you have ink in your blood, no matter how hard you try, you can’t walk away.
Cochran and Bleckley County have been my home since I was ten years old. This is a community where you are more than just a name—you are a friend, a neighbor, part of the family. That sense of connection drives everything we do at The Ledger.
Through this website, we will cover newsy events, report on government meetings, and spotlight the businesses and people that make our community unique. Our goal is simple: to inform, celebrate, and serve the people of Cochran and Bleckley County.
