From Staff Reports
Kaleb Brown officially joined the ranks of Georgia law enforcement officers today after graduating from the Georgia Police Academy, where he successfully completed 20 weeks of basic training.
The academy program provides the foundational skills and state certifications required to serve as a law enforcement officer in Georgia.
Following graduation, Brown was sworn in as a deputy at his request in front of the Georgia Public Safety Memorial Wall. The memorial honors Georgia law enforcement officers, firefighters, corrections officers, emergency medical technicians and emergency management personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The Georgia Public Safety Memorial was dedicated on June 10, 1997, in recognition of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting life and property. Above the names engraved on the wall are the words, “With honor they served.”
Brown now begins his law enforcement career serving the citizens of Bleckley County and the State of Georgia.
Officials noted that while the past 20 weeks marked a significant achievement, the completion of academy training is only the beginning of a profession that requires continued learning, responsibility and dedication.
Brown was welcomed into the profession with encouragement to serve with honor, protect with courage and uphold the trust placed in those who wear the badge.
