From Staff Reports
Lifelong Bleckley County resident Heather McDaniel has announced her candidacy for the Bleckley County Board of Education, District 1 seat, bringing both personal and professional experience in education to the race.
McDaniel, a graduate of Bleckley County Schools, said her upbringing in the local school system played a key role in shaping who she is today.
“My name is Heather McDaniel, and I am proud to be a lifelong member of the Bleckley County community,” she said. “I grew up attending Bleckley County Schools, and those experiences helped shape who I am today.”
She and her husband, Trent McDaniel, are raising two children who currently attend Bleckley County Schools. McDaniel said her role as both a parent and a former teacher gives her a well-rounded perspective on the needs of students, families and educators.
After beginning her career in education, McDaniel chose to stay home to raise her children. During that time, she remained actively involved in their education and in the school community.
“My experience in the classroom, along with my role as a parent, has given me a strong understanding of the importance of supporting teachers, maintaining safe schools and making decisions that always put students first,” she said.
McDaniel said she is passionate about the future of Bleckley County and is committed to working collaboratively to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education.
“I believe in listening to parents, supporting our educators and doing what is best for our students,” she said.
The Bleckley County Board of Education District 1 race will give voters the opportunity to select a candidate focused on community involvement, educational support and student success.
