A friend sent me a picture of the Chewy Cinnamon Bun Chips Ahoy and said, “Since you’re trying things … have you tried these? I wanted to know before the purchase. A good news story for participation — local results before buying.” 😂
Apparently, The Ledger has now expanded into consumer testing.
After the new limited edition Oreos recently failed me, I approached this assignment with a little caution. But I stopped by the Dollar General in Empire — a super clean store, by the way, and one I encourage folks to support — and there they were.
So, for the sake of journalism, I bought them.
Y’all.
Delicious with a capital D.
They’re sweet, but not overpoweringly sweet. The cinnamon flavor works, the cookie is soft and chewy, and the aftertaste is actually pleasant.
I can already picture it: a rainy afternoon, a good book, a cup of coffee and a few Cinnamon Bun Chips Ahoy.
Now that sounds like a pretty good afternoon to me.
Final verdict: This one works. Buy the cookies.
And to my friend who wanted local test results before spending his own money: you’re welcome.
