The Dre Day Foundation will host its 5th Annual Gun Violence Awareness Festival on Saturday, June 6, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cochran.

Organizers describe the event as a day focused on community unity, remembrance, awareness and action. This year’s festival will run from noon until 9 p.m. and will conclude with a candlelight vigil at dusk honoring loved ones lost to violence and calling for peace.

The event will take place at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 134 South Fifth Street in Cochran. Activities will include games for children, food vendors, a cornhole tournament, music and other family-friendly entertainment.

Organizers said this year marks five years of advocacy, remembrance and community empowerment in Cochran. Due to continued growth, the festival is moving to a larger location this year to better accommodate attendees and vendors.

The Dre Day Foundation is currently seeking food and merchandise vendors for the festival. Organizers said the event is designed to bring the community together in a positive and family-oriented atmosphere.

Vendors interested in participating may contact the Dre Day Foundation at 470-558-6128 or by email at dredayfoundation9601@gmail.com.
