COCHRAN — A new educational opportunity for young girls was officially welcomed to the community Friday as Beauty From Ashes Youth Leadership Academy celebrated its ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony.
Located on Fifth Street in Cochran, Beauty From Ashes is a Christian academy focused on educating and developing young girls academically while encouraging leadership, confidence and personal growth. Its motto is “Building Bold Girls for a Bright Future.”
Community members, family and supporters gathered for Friday’s celebration, which included remarks, a look inside the academy and the traditional ribbon cutting.
The academy offers colorful and welcoming classroom spaces prepared for students, with areas dedicated to subjects including science, history and other academic studies.
Beauty From Ashes Youth Leadership Academy is scheduled to officially launch Monday, Aug. 10.
The academy’s theme comes from Isaiah 61:3: “…to give them beauty for ashes…”
