From Staff Reports
Despite sweltering July temperatures, residents gathered in downtown Cochran Saturday evening for the monthly Second Saturday celebration featuring live music by the Georgia Chryslers.
Performing on the steps of the Bleckley County Courthouse, the Georgia Chryslers entertained the crowd with a variety of musical favorites spanning multiple decades and genres. Families and friends relaxed in lawn chairs, sang along and enjoyed the community atmosphere as the band performed throughout the evening.
Several food and beverage vendors were on hand, including a lemonade stand benefiting the Bleckley 10U All-Star softball team as they continue fundraising for their trip to the Diamond Youth World Series. Food trucks and other vendors also served attendees during the event.
Although temperatures remained high well into the evening, community members turned out to enjoy the music, visit with friends and support local vendors in downtown Cochran.
Hosted by the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce, Second Saturday continues to provide an opportunity for residents and visitors to gather in the heart of downtown for live entertainment and community fellowship.
