Bleckley County carried a 28-0 halftime lead into the second half and added one more touchdown in the third quarter before closing out a 35-7 win over Jasper County.
The Royals’ only score after halftime came late in the third quarter when quarterback Brody Fleming connected with Jason McNulty Jr. for a 38-yard touchdown pass. Dylan Lamb added the extra point to make it 35-0.
That touchdown gave Fleming five touchdown passes on the night, while McNulty finished with three touchdown receptions.
Bleckley’s defense continued to control the game through most of the second half, forcing Jasper County to punt multiple times and keeping the Hurricanes scoreless until the final minute.
Jasper County avoided the shutout with about 30 seconds remaining when Wailer Sands broke free for an 80-yard rushing touchdown. Josue Torres Juarez converted the extra point for the final margin.
Bleckley County scored 7 points in the first quarter, 21 in the second and 7 in the third, while Jasper County’s only points came in the fourth.
Final: Bleckley County 35, Jasper County 7.
The Royals move to 3-0.
