At an age when many teenagers were still figuring out what they wanted to do after school, Cole Berryhill was already building a business.

Now 21 years old, the Cochran native has turned a small lawn care operation started with his brother into a growing company serving nearly 150 clients across the area.

Berryhill, a 2024 graduate of Bleckley County High School, said his path started early with a love for the outdoors and a willingness to work.

“In 2019, it was just me and my brother,” he said. “We had about 10 customers.”

At the time, Cole was barely into his teenage years.

Today, Berryhill Lawncare LLC has grown to include six employees in addition to Berryhill himself and offers a wide variety of services including lawn maintenance, landscaping, irrigation, land clearing and more.

Despite the company’s growth, Berryhill still speaks with the same straightforward humility and work ethic that helped get it started.

“I’ve always cut grass and loved being outdoors,” he said with a laugh. “I just love getting up and going to work every morning.”

And he meant it.

While attending Bleckley County High School, Berryhill also took classes through Central Georgia Technical College, earning his diesel mechanic certification before graduation.

Even with the success of his business at a young age, Berryhill remains grounded in both his faith and his future goals. He said he hopes to continue growing the business for years to come.

“I hope to be doing this forever,” he said.

Berryhill is also preparing for another major milestone in life as he looks forward to getting married later this month.

When asked what advice he would offer other young people wanting to start a business, his answer reflected both faith and perseverance.

“Trust the Lord, keep your head up and eyes on Him and keep digging forward,” he said. “Pray about it and God will make a way.”
