COCHRAN — On Sunday evening, student athletes and coaches from Bleckley County High School took part in the 23rd annual Bible Reading Marathon, joining voices from across the community in reading Scripture aloud.
In a moment that felt especially fitting, young people stood and read God’s Word — a quiet but powerful reminder of Isaiah 11:6, which says, “and a little child shall lead them.”
For those gathered, it wasn’t about spotlight or recognition, but about presence — showing up, speaking truth, and being part of something bigger than themselves.
Events like the Bible Reading Marathon continue to bring the community together across generations, centered on faith and the simple act of reading Scripture aloud.
As the words were shared Sunday night, the message was clear: leadership doesn’t always come from a podium — sometimes, it comes from young voices willing to stand and read.
