COCHRAN — Early voting is off to a steady start in Bleckley County, with 476 ballots cast as of Friday mid-afternoon, according to Chief Registrar Cheryl Ates.
Of that total, 113 voters turned out on the first day of early voting.
With a little more than 8,800 registered voters in the county, Ates said participation has been encouraging so far.
“It is going pretty good,” Ates said. “Come out and vote.”
Early voting will continue through May 15. Ates also reminded residents that Saturday, May 9, will be the final Saturday available for early voting, with polls open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For those planning to vote by mail, May 8 is the deadline to request an absentee ballot.
