The Bleckley County Fire Department recently spent two fun-filled days teaching fire safety to local children at Mrs. Debbie’s Play School.
During Fire Safety Day, held Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23, students learned the importance of smoke detectors through a lesson featuring “Mr. Nose,” the detector that is always “smelling” for smoke.
Children also enjoyed a hands-on highlight of the visit — getting the chance to spray water.
The department thanked Mrs. Debbie Horton for the invitation and Mrs. Wendy Cook for helping teach the lessons.
