Bleckley County voters who want a preview of what they will see at the polls can now review sample ballots ahead of the May 19 General Primary and Nonpartisan General Election.

The sample ballots, provided by the Bleckley County Board of Elections, include Democratic, Republican and Nonpartisan versions. Each ballot outlines the races and questions that may appear, depending on the voter’s selected party ballot.

While the full document includes multiple ballot styles, voters will only see the ballot that applies to them when voting.

In addition to federal, state and local races, the ballots include a local referendum regarding whether Bleckley County should allow restaurants to serve distilled spirits by the drink. That question appears near the end of each ballot.

Voters should also note that some ballots include additional “party questions.” These are not referendums and do not change any laws but are used by political parties to gauge voter opinion on certain issues.

The sample ballots are intended to help voters familiarize themselves with the layout and content before casting their vote.

For more information about voting times and locations, voters can contact the Bleckley County Board of Elections.
