By Becky Holland

Freida McFadden has become one of those authors people can’t stop talking about—and for good reason.

Known for her fast-paced, twist-filled thrillers, she’s drawn in readers from all walks of life, including many who are finding their way back to reading again.

Here’s what some of our readers had to say:

“I’ve read several, but when I pick up one of her books I better not have anything else to do, because I can’t put it down.”

— Robin Davis

“I read The Teacher and didn’t like it so I have hesitated to pick up another one. That being said, I think she is responsible for getting many people into or back into reading and that is amazing. I have listened to her being interviewed on a couple of podcasts and she came across as very likable and down to earth. When a person can be a parent, a crazy popular author AND a brain surgeon on top of that, love her or hate her you have to respect that kind of accomplishment!”

— Sonya Burroughs

“Love Frieda! Quick, easy reads. Some of my favs are Ward D, The Perfect Son, and The Boyfriend!”

— Lynzee White

“Frieda is such a fast and easy read. I never want to put her books down until I’m finished with it!”

— Sara Peacock

📖 Becky’s Review: The Intruder

In The Intruder, McFadden delivers exactly what her readers have come to expect—a suspenseful, fast-moving story filled with tension and twists. Set in a place that should feel safe but quickly becomes unsettling, the novel keeps readers guessing as secrets begin to surface and trust starts to unravel.

While the book leans more toward quick pacing than deep character development, it’s a true page-turner that’s hard to put down. Fans of psychological thrillers will find themselves pulled in from the very first chapters, with an ending that leaves you thinking long after you’ve finished.

Theo of Golden is now in my top 5 favorite books. Author Allen Levi’s story could take place in a number of mid sized southern cities as the characters could be written into another book.
Not to spoil anything, but many of us are waiting for the release of Levi’s sequel and second book, Ellen of Golden.
Saying that, grab a copy of Theo of Golden and be prepared to laugh, reflect, root for the characters, and perhaps shed a few tears.
You might find yourself assigning people you know to the vivid descriptions and the more vivid antics of some of the characters in this book. We all know candidates and love them for their colorful selves.
    Happy reading.
