This tortoise and hare have a relationship, but it doesn’t appear to be mutually rewarding. Some people can be like the tortoise, who appears to be very demanding. The tortoise in your life may be a spouse, a friend, or someone at your church.

In love, you have always tried to be there for them, but there may come a time when you feel like you are about to collapse under the weight of their demands.

If you are always a “yes” person, it’s easy at times to become resentful when they continually call upon you. Have you ever felt like the tortoise in your relationship with the Lord as you continually call upon Him with your needs?

We should rejoice, knowing that the Lord is always there for us and is never resentful when we repeatedly come to Him. His love for us is amazingly rich in grace, mercy, and forgiveness.

Lord, I praise you, “For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You” (Psalm 86:5).

Whatever your need may be, never be reluctant to call upon the Lord.
