COCHRAN — The Dre Day Foundation will host its Back-to-School Summit on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering local students and families an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year.

The event will be held at 134 Fifth St., Cochran.

The summit will feature a book bag giveaway for children, along with a variety of family-friendly activities, including a fun zone for kids, an open discussion panel and opportunities for students to talk about their goals, dreams and plans for the upcoming school year.

Organizers say the event is designed to encourage students, promote self-expression and help families start the school year on a positive note.
