A new community outreach effort is underway in Cochran with a goal of providing 300 care bags filled with essential hygiene items for students across Bleckley County’s five schools.

The first annual Bundle of Faith campaign is asking community members, businesses and churches to donate personal care items that will be distributed to local students as the new school year approaches.

Organizers are seeking donations of everyday necessities including deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, nail care kits, hair products for all hair types, body wash, washcloths, body spray, fingernail polish, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, face wash, socks, underwear, combs, brushes, hair ties, baby wipes and other wipes, as well as individually packaged snacks.

Monetary donations are also being accepted through several electronic payment platforms, including Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay and Chime.

Donated items may be dropped off at Cochran City Hall, with an additional drop-off location expected to be announced.

The campaign is inspired by Philippians 4:13 and encourages the community to come together to help ensure students have access to basic necessities as they prepare to return to school.
