The Bleckley County Fire Department responded to 106 calls for service during June, according to the department’s monthly activity report.

Medical calls accounted for the largest category with 28 responses, while firefighters also responded to 29 calls involving downed trees or power lines and 26 vehicle wrecks.

Other incidents included six brush fires, three vehicle or agricultural equipment fires, five mutual aid calls, four landing zone assists, one fire alarm, and four other calls. The department reported no structure fires or hazardous materials incidents during the month.

Overall, the department handled 106 calls throughout June, reflecting a wide range of emergency responses across Bleckley County.
