Small business owners in Bleckley County may be interested in a new opportunity being offered through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The SBA has announced the Patriot Competition, a nationwide initiative designed to recognize innovation, entrepreneurship and business growth as part of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration.
According to information shared by the Cochran-Bleckley County Chamber of Commerce, the competition will award a share of a $1 million prize pool to qualifying small businesses that demonstrate innovation, strong business practices and economic impact.
Businesses will be evaluated on several factors, including strengthening American competitiveness, economic impact, job creation, business fundamentals and execution readiness.
Applications are due by June 10, 2026, with finalists expected to be announced in July. The competition finals will be held during a one-day event scheduled for September.
