It may still be summer, but Bleckley County Elementary School is already helping families prepare for the upcoming school year.
The school recently released supply lists for third, fourth and fifth grade students for the 2026-27 academic year, giving parents a head start on gathering classroom necessities before students return to campus this fall.
Among the supplies requested across the three grade levels are notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, scissors and headphones. Students will also need backpacks, though the school notes that rolling backpacks are not permitted for fourth-grade students and book bags are required for fifth graders.
In addition to classroom supplies, students in all three grades will need a signed paper folder and a student agenda, both of which can be purchased through the school store.
The lists vary slightly by grade level. Third-grade students will need items such as folders, crayons, pencils and headphones, while fourth-grade students are asked to bring a binder, page protectors and headphones. Fifth-grade students will need additional items including index cards, highlighters, Expo markers and composition notebooks.
School officials encourage families to begin shopping early, especially as back-to-school sales begin appearing throughout the summer.

As students enjoy the final weeks of summer vacation, school leaders say preparing early can help make the transition back to the classroom a little smoother.
The first day of school for Bleckley County students is expected later this summer. Parents are encouraged to watch for additional back-to-school information from the Bleckley County School System in the coming weeks.
