The Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley County Library is preparing for a summer full of reading, learning and discovery as the Ocmulgee Regional Library System launches its 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story.”
This year’s theme focuses on dinosaurs, fossils, archaeology and discovery while encouraging readers of all ages to continue reading throughout the summer months.
Registration for the program opens May 26 and will continue all summer long. Participants can earn prizes for reading while taking part in free programs, activities and events hosted by the library.
The Summer Reading Kick-Off Party at the Tessie Norris Library is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, from 10 a.m. until noon.
Families attending the event can enjoy a bounce house, games, activities and more while signing up for the summer reading program.
An accessible Summer Reading Program is also available through the Georgia Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled for individuals with reading or vision disabilities. The free program includes virtual reading clubs, audiobooks, braille materials and additional resources.
