More than 65 adults and children gathered Friday afternoon for a special Story Time event at the library, where books, learning and live animals combined to create a memorable experience for local families.
The event featured a reading of Duck, Duck, Dinosaur by author Kallie George, presented by Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library Branch Manager Gina Thomas.
Following the story, Scotty Thomas of Into the Woods Poultry Farm introduced attendees to some real-life feathered friends, including his Call Ducks and Silkie chicken. Children and adults alike enjoyed learning about the birds while making connections between the storybook characters and their modern-day counterparts and dinosaurs.
The program offered a fun and educational opportunity for families to enjoy reading while also experiencing hands-on learning about animals.
The event was part of the library’s ongoing efforts to encourage literacy and community engagement through creative and interactive programs.
