From Staff Reports
After years of pouring her heart into Bleckley County’s students and arts programs, Kelli Greer took her final bow Saturday night surrounded by love, music and generations of students whose lives she helped shape.
Greer has been a driving force behind BCHS One Act, Royal Singers, BETA Show Choir and countless performances and productions over the years. Former students returned to surprise her with a special song, creating an emotional moment that reflected the impact she has had both on stage and beyond it.
“Tonight, we celebrated one of my best girls’ last show,” Mi Waters shared in a heartfelt post. “Kelli Greer has been an amazing asset to BCHS One Act, Royal Singers, BETA Show Choir, and so much more! I’ve watched her pour tireless hours into this passion and her students! It was awesome to see so many alumnae come to sing a surprise song for her! So excited for this next chapter in her life! Congratulations Kelli!! You deserve the world!”
From standing ovations to hugs backstage, the evening served as both a celebration and a thank you to an educator and mentor who helped generations of students find confidence, creativity and community through the arts.
For many former students, Greer’s influence extended far beyond rehearsals and performances. She created a place where students felt seen, encouraged and inspired to grow — not just as performers, but as people.
As one chapter closes, the legacy Greer leaves behind at Bleckley County High School will continue through the countless students she mentored and the memories created on stage over the years.
