The Cochran Fire and Emergency Services Department responded to a total of 105 calls during April 2026.

Of those calls, 68 were medical calls, while firefighters also responded to 13 motor vehicle crashes, 10 fire/fire alarm calls, and 14 other incidents.

The department also reported assisting with wildfire response efforts in Brantley County through a GMAG request, conducting business inspections and pre-fire plans, and participating in six community events during the month. Firefighters made contact with 466 adults and 390 children through outreach and safety events.

Chief Brock Wilcher also reminded residents that no burn permits will be issued until Georgia’s statewide burn ban is lifted on May 22.
