Dear Community Members,

My name is DeeAnn Greene, and my husband and I have two children in the Bleckley County School System. Grady is 13 and in 7th grade at BCMS; Dollie Rose is 10 and in 5th grade at BCES. Both of our children had the honor of being taught by Mrs. Kandace Lucas. For this reason, I’m writing to endorse Mrs. Lucas for the Bleckley County Board of Education seat, District 5.

Mrs. Lucas has 30+ years in the classroom. As a former educator myself, it’s my opinion there’s no one better to make decisions about education than a teacher; the ones who have spent day after day with our children. 

Experience is key. She knows the standards required by the state, and she can give invaluable insight on the proper curriculum for our schools. She will be able to offer a wealth of knowledge, simply from her own experiences with our children. These children are our future!

I believe Mrs. Lucas will support every child, every teacher, and every person employed by the Bleckley County School System to ensure we stay Bleckley Strong. I also believe she will do this with honesty, integrity, and compassion.

In my experience with Mrs. Lucas, she shows up. She supports. I feel like her time in the classroom coupled with her own personal character traits would provide a fresh, new set of ideas for our school system.

For these reasons, I humbly ask that you consider voting for Mrs. Kandace Lucas for the Board of Education seat in District 5.
