From Staff Reports

Robert Pruitt, a candidate for Georgia House of Representatives District 133, brings a background rooted in aviation, business development, and public service.

Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Pruitt was raised in a military family where he says he learned the values of discipline and service early in life. He later married Kelly Rogers Pruitt in 1996 and pursued higher education at Heart of Georgia Technical Institute, where he was part of the institution’s first graduating class, earning a diploma in Flight Technology. In 1999, he graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics.

Pruitt spent several years working as a professional pilot, including time with Delta Air Lines. Rather than relocating his family to Atlanta, he chose to remain in Eastman, where he launched a business while continuing to fly. He is now the founder of SoPoly, a manufacturing company that produces outdoor furniture from recycled materials. He also previously founded Valence Surface Technologies in Eastman, a company that provides more than 100 jobs in the region.

Currently, Pruitt serves as Executive Director of the Dodge County Eastman Development Authority, where his work focuses on recruiting new industry and expanding economic opportunities in the area.

In 2020, Pruitt won the Republican primary and was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives for District 149. During his time in office, he served on the House Economic Development and Tourism Committee, the House Industry and Labor Committee, and the House Small Business and Development Committee.

With experience spanning aviation, manufacturing, and government, Pruitt says he brings a practical, results-driven approach to leadership. His campaign emphasizes strengthening the local economy, supporting working families, and providing strong, engaged representation for District 133.

Pruitt has stated he is committed to serving the district with integrity, accountability, and purpose.
