COCHRAN, Ga. — Middle Georgia State University’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship will continue its Fall 2026 Lunch & Learn series with programs scheduled for October and November.
The series, presented through the School of Business at Middle Georgia State University, focuses on the theme “Innovation in Action” and offers practical information that businesses and organizations can put to use.
The next Lunch & Learn will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at noon at Alderman Hall on the Cochran Campus. Catherine Whelan will present “AI for the Small Business: Five Things You Can Do Right Now.”
Rather than focusing on how artificial intelligence works, the session will examine five practical ways businesses can use AI for marketing content, customer communications, brainstorming, research and analyzing information. Participants will be encouraged to identify at least one way AI could help solve a problem within their own organization.
The final fall session will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at noon at The Commons in downtown Cochran. Amy Tarpley will present “Find the Friction: Turning Customer Problems into Business Opportunities.”
The program will explore how common customer frustrations — including processes that are inconvenient, slow, confusing or expensive — can point businesses toward opportunities for new products, services or process improvements. Participants will learn a simple approach for identifying customer “pain points” and turning them into opportunities.
The Fall Lunch & Learn series is presented by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the School of Business at Middle Georgia State University.
