Obviously, it has been a while since this young man has been asked to dress up for a special occasion … because his pants are too short and his coat is too small, he’s got a problem.

During my senior year of high school, a young lady on the homecoming court asked me to escort her.

I faced the same situation, and had to borrow a suit from my brother.

My mom used safety pins to make it fit. It wasn’t comfortable, but it worked. In life, unexpected problems arise, and they must be dealt with.

John 2 tells of a wedding in Cana, where the hosts run out of wine, an unexpected problem that could bring embarrassment.

Mary brought the problem to Jesus. At her request, He instructed the servants to fill jars with water, which He miraculously turns into wine.

When unexpected problems arise, we often ask, “What are we going to do?”

Mary’s response was to take the issue to Jesus.

Like the servants, we are called to obey and trust Him, even when the outcome is unknown.

Bringing our problems to the Lord allows Him to work in ways we cannot, turning challenges into blessings when we place our faith in Him.
