Bleckley County Varsity Royals picked up a 9-7 win over West Laurens at home on Wednesday night, powered by a strong offensive showing and an early surge at the plate.
The Royals came out swinging, putting up six runs in the first inning to take control early and set the tone for the game. They added three more runs in the fourth, finishing with 14 hits on the night.
B. Fleming led the way at the plate with three hits and two RBIs, while W. Boatright added two hits and scored twice. L. Sapp contributed a big night offensively as well, driving in three runs on two hits.
West Laurens battled back, scoring three runs in the third and four more in the fifth to keep things close, but the Royals’ early lead proved to be the difference.
On the mound, G. Cole earned the win, with J. Johnson closing things out in relief and keeping West Laurens scoreless over the final innings.
Bleckley County continues to build momentum early in the season with the win.
