From Staff Reports

The Cochran City Council will hold two public hearings followed by a work session Thursday, Nov. 5, at the City Auditorium, with several matters on the agenda, including property rezoning, a Chamber of Commerce agreement, city staffing and improvements at Willie Basby Park.

The public hearings will begin at 6 p.m.

The first hearing concerns a request to rezone two properties located to the left and right of 150 S. Fourth St. from R-1 (Low Density Residential District) to R-3 (High Density Residential District). The properties include a 0.53-acre lot and a 0.51-acre lot.

The council’s work session will begin following the public hearings.

Brett Hanes of Falcon Design Engineers is scheduled to make a presentation.

Council members are also scheduled to consider the rezoning and variance requests presented during the public hearings.

Other agenda items include discussion of a variable sign and lease agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, human resources and community development positions, and the city attorney’s agreement.

The council will also address wooden bleachers at Willie Basby Park that have been listed as surplus and discuss plans for a ribbon cutting and grand reopening of the park.

An executive session is listed on the agenda for personnel, litigation and real estate matters.
