COCHRAN, Ga. — The sounds of preaching, gospel music and prayer will fill the air in Empire as New Hope Free Will Baptist Church hosts an Old-Fashioned Tent Revival October 25 through November 1.
The eight-day gathering, held at 139 Free Will Church Road, will feature a variety of guest preachers and musical groups, offering the community an opportunity to come together for worship, fellowship and spiritual renewal.
With the theme “Revive Us Again,” taken from Psalm 85:6, the revival will emphasize preaching Christ, praying for revival and praising the Lord.
The event will begin Sunday, October 25, with an 11 a.m. service featuring Landon Dykes, followed by a 6 p.m. evening service with Ricky Gilmore. Ricky Atkinson and Compassion are also scheduled for Sunday evening.
Services will continue throughout the week at 7 p.m., with a different guest preacher each evening.
Hoy Duncan will speak Monday, October 26, with Rachel and Buddy Horne also scheduled to participate.
Randy Hooper will deliver the message Tuesday, October 27, followed by Wesley Campbell on Wednesday, October 28. Debra Perry and Jaidyn’s Call are listed as musical guests for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Chris Rumfelt will preach Thursday, October 29, and Patrick Odell will speak Friday, October 30. Gospel group Sound Street is scheduled to provide music both evenings.
A special highlight of the revival will be Hallelujah Youth Night Under the Tent, set for Saturday, October 31, at 6 p.m.
The youth-focused service will feature preaching by Clint Jones and worship led by Haley Ensley Papaik and Matthew Ensley.
Although the evening places special emphasis on reaching the next generation, organizers stress that the invitation extends to everyone.
The youth event carries the message “A Night for a Bigger Purpose,” emphasizing worship, the Word of God, fellowship and encouraging young people in their faith.
The revival will conclude Sunday, November 1, with two services. Briggs Dominy will speak at 11 a.m., with Haley and Matthew Ensley providing worship music. The final service will begin at 6 p.m., featuring Jacob Martin and musical guest Jennifer Warren.
Throughout the week, the revival will bring together ministers, singers and worshippers for services centered on faith and the Christian message.
The old-fashioned tent setting reflects a longstanding tradition of community revival meetings, where people gather outside the walls of a traditional church sanctuary to hear preaching, enjoy gospel music and pray together.
New Hope Free Will Baptist Church invites residents of Empire, Cochran, Bleckley County and surrounding communities to attend.
