In light of recent concerns surrounding the challenges and transition involving Cochran’s interim city manager, I would like to share my personal and professional perspective.

As a native of Cochran and Bleckley County, I have always known this community for its strong values, close-knit relationships, supportive businesses and citizens who consistently show up for one another.

Although I moved away more than two decades ago to pursue personal growth and new opportunities, my connection to Cochran remains deeply rooted through my mother, family members and close friends who still call this community home.

Maintaining the strength of our community requires a willingness to support the city through difficult times without resorting to personal blame or finger-pointing. The true measure of a strong community is reflected in how it responds to adversity.

As Cochran works toward the best possible outcome regarding the city manager position and its responsibilities, now is the time to rally around this office and every leadership position within our city. We must ensure that the necessary resources, support and guidance are available to encourage growth and positive change.

I would also like to offer my experience, skills and commitment to the City of Cochran and Bleckley County. I am willing to assist in any way I can to help preserve the spirit of unity that has long defined our community.

My professional background includes more than two decades of public safety experience, over five years of corporate management and extensive work in government risk and compliance.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in criminal science and a Juris Master degree, with a specialization in human resources and employment law, from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. I am also the founder of Henderson Juris Consulting LLC.

In the spirit of progress, I encourage Cochran’s citizens, elected officials and business leaders to set aside personal differences and embrace unity, cooperation and teamwork.

We may not always agree on every issue, but we can work together toward a common goal: building a stronger, more productive community for everyone.

For questions or assistance, I can be reached at 770-843-1183 or by email at ghenlaw@gmail.com.

Respectfully,

Governor H. Henderson,

BA/BSCJ, JM
