From Staff Reports

COCHRAN, Ga. — Georgia gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson brought his campaign message to Cochran on Thursday, Oct. 8, speaking to approximately 150 people from the tri-county area during a rally at the Cochran Municipal Airport.

Bleckley County Sheriff Daniel Cape also addressed the gathering, while state Sen. Larry Walker introduced Jackson.

Jackson discussed his personal background, business experience and priorities for Georgia, emphasizing lower costs, education, healthcare, government accountability and public safety.

His campaign centers on five principal areas: reducing costs and taxes while expanding job opportunities, strengthening schools, improving access to affordable healthcare, restoring public trust in government and keeping Georgia families safe.

Jackson’s message also draws heavily from his own life experiences.

According to his campaign biography, Jackson grew up in foster care, living in five foster homes and attending 13 schools. He also spent part of his childhood in Atlanta’s Techwood Homes housing projects.

His campaign states he never knew his father and was raised by a mother who struggled with alcoholism.

Jackson eventually entered the business world after being unable to afford to continue college. He accepted a commission-based sales position and later purchased the company where he worked.

Today, according to his campaign, his businesses serve all 50 states, help provide care for more than 20 million patients annually and generate more than $3 billion in annual revenue.

Jackson has made his business background a central part of his campaign, emphasizing his desire to bring an action-oriented approach to state government.

Among his priorities is addressing the financial pressures facing Georgia families through lower costs, reduced taxes and additional job opportunities.

He also advocates strengthening education and providing students with clearer pathways toward careers and future success.

Healthcare is another major component of his platform, with Jackson calling for services that are more affordable, accessible and accountable.

His remaining priorities focus on government accountability, restoring public trust and maintaining public safety.

The campaign’s central message, “Georgia Needs Action,” reflects Jackson’s emphasis on results rather than political promises.

Thursday’s gathering provided residents from Cochran and the surrounding tri-county area an opportunity to hear directly from the gubernatorial candidate about his background and priorities for the state.
