CARY — For Brian Nelson, repairing lawn mowers isn’t simply a business. It’s something he has enjoyed since childhood, when his father would take old lawn mowers, repair them and sell them.

Today, Nelson has turned that childhood interest into a business of his own, operating Nelson’s Lawn Mower Repair while continuing to work full-time at the base.

For the past 12 years, Nelson has spent his time repairing equipment and helping customers get their machines running again. But for him, the greatest reward isn’t necessarily completing another repair. It’s the satisfaction of returning a piece of equipment to the way it operated before something went wrong.

That passion for figuring out how things work has stayed with him since he was a boy.

About five years ago, Nelson and his family moved from Houston County to Bleckley County after discovering a piece of property in Cary. They made it their home, and today, the property also houses his repair shop.

His wife, Kristie, and their four children have become part of the Bleckley County community.

Nelson credits his faith with helping guide his family’s journey. He recalled praying and trusting that God would make things happen. Looking at where his family and business are today, he believes those prayers have been answered.

A Business Built on Experience

Nelson’s Lawn Mower Repair services residential and commercial equipment, including lawn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, chainsaws, generators, log splitters and tillers.

The business serves Bleckley County and surrounding communities, offering pickup and delivery services.

Most tune-ups have a turnaround time of approximately 24 hours. The business also offers a 90-day parts warranty.

Nelson is an authorized AMSOIL dealer, offering synthetic oils, filters and maintenance products.

Although he maintains another career, Nelson continues to devote time to the repair business he has operated for more than a decade. His goal is to provide dependable service while doing something he genuinely enjoys.

Putting Down Roots

The Nelson family’s connection to Bleckley County extends beyond their home and business.

They are involved in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and support community activities, including helping with concessions for local softball teams.

Nelson said friends from work encouraged him to consider moving to Bleckley County. Finding their property in Cary helped turn that possibility into reality.

Today, the family has established roots in the community while Nelson continues pursuing the interest that began with his father’s old lawn mowers.

For Nelson, every machine brought back to working condition offers another opportunity to experience the satisfaction that first attracted him to repairing equipment.

Nelson’s Lawn Mower Repair serves Bleckley County and surrounding communities. Customers may call 478-302-4874 for information about repairs, maintenance, pickup and delivery services.
