COCHRAN — Cochran attorney Ronald “Ron” E. Daniels has been appointed to serve as a Superior Court judge for the Oconee Judicial Circuit.
Gov. Brian Kemp announced the appointment Tuesday. Daniels will fill the vacancy created by the death of Superior Court Judge Howard Cauldwell Kaufold Jr.
Daniels is the managing partner of Daniels Law LLC, which maintains offices in Eastman and Cochran. His practice includes civil litigation, real estate transactions and local government law. He also represents the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Division of Child Support Services as a Special Assistant Attorney General.
A native of Rhine, Daniels began his legal career in Warner Robins with Burke Lasseter LLC. He opened his own law firm in 2015 and has also served as the 76th president of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.
Daniels earned an associate degree from Middle Georgia College, a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern State University and his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law.
Daniels and his wife, Maggie, live in Cochran with their daughter, Joanna.
The Oconee Judicial Circuit serves Bleckley, Dodge, Montgomery, Pulaski, Telfair and Wheeler counties.
