COCHRAN — Bleckley County voters can begin preparing for the Nov. 3, 2026, General Election, with local election officials releasing key voting dates and a sample ballot showing the races and proposed constitutional amendments voters will see.
The first important deadline comes Oct. 5, the last day to register to vote or check voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 3 election.
Early in-person voting begins Oct. 13 and continues through Oct. 30, with voting available from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Two Saturdays have also been designated for in-person voting. Saturday voting will be held Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The deadline to request a mail ballot is Oct. 23. On Election Day, Nov. 3, vote-by-mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m.
Early voting will take place at the Bleckley County Board of Elections Office, 106 E. Cherry St., Courthouse Annex.
On Election Day, polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., with voting at the JC Fairgrounds, 290 Ash Street.
What’s on the ballot?
The sample ballot released by election officials includes statewide and federal contests for U.S. Senate, governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, agriculture commissioner, insurance commissioner, state school superintendent, labor commissioner and Public Service Commission Districts 3 and 5.
Bleckley County voters will also see races for U.S. House District 8, State Senate District 20 and State House District 133, along with the race for Bleckley County Soil & Water Conservation District Supervisor.
The sample ballot also contains three proposed amendments to the Georgia Constitution. They concern increasing the maximum qualifying acreage for certain conservation-use property tax treatment; providing for nonpartisan election of probate court judges; and authorizing creation of a Georgia Next Generation 9-1-1 Fund for expansion, maintenance and operation of 9-1-1 systems.
Voters who would like to review a sample ballot before Election Day may pick one up at the Board of Elections and Registration Office or view sample ballot information through Georgia’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
