COCHRAN, Ga. — Several local first responders gathered Friday morning for a Sept. 11 Memorial Walk hosted by the Cochran Fire Department.
Participants included city and county firefighters, EMTs, Bleckley County Sheriff Daniel Cape and sheriff’s deputies, along with others who joined the walk in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The walk served as a time to honor the 343 firefighters who died at the World Trade Center, as well as the other first responders and victims whose lives were lost that day.
The Cochran Fire Department organized the local observance as a way for the community’s first responders to remember, reflect and pay tribute together.
