September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Ocmulgee Regional Library System is giving residents another reason to keep their PINES library card handy.
ORLS has partnered with businesses throughout its service area to offer special discounts and promotions to library cardholders during September. Patrons simply need to show their physical PINES library card at participating businesses to receive the advertised offer.
Several Bleckley County businesses are taking part. Southern Roots, The Mule Barn, Riot + Reign and Tenth House are each offering 10 percent off purchases. Snow’s Asian Grill is offering 10 percent off on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Participating businesses elsewhere in the ORLS region include Blossoms & Beaus and Eastman Bake Shop in Dodge County; VitaliTEA, Yummy Joe’s Coffee and Southern Belle Consignment in Pulaski County; Ryals Outfitters and Dairy Queen in Telfair County; Holy Grounds Café in Turner County; South GA Tools in Wheeler County; and Half Moon Brew in Wilcox County.
The Dairy Queen promotion is available only at the McRae location and includes a free Dilly Bar on Sept. 16.
Discounts vary by business, ranging from 5 percent to 35 percent off purchases.
Residents who do not currently have a library card can obtain one free at their local ORLS branch by bringing a government-issued photo ID showing their current address. Replacement cards are also free.
Library officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of the promotion while also supporting businesses that support local libraries.
The special offers are available throughout September unless otherwise noted, and participating businesses reserve the right to apply discounts at their discretion.
