The Bleckley County Middle School Barons battled West Laurens to the finish but came up short, 26-16.
After allowing West Laurens to build its advantage in the first half, Bleckley County’s defense responded with a strong second-half performance and did not allow another point.
“Second half turnaround for sure,” Barons head coach Alex Garnto said. “Fought to the very end, hard.”
Ross Herrington connected with Chance Bryant for a touchdown through the air, while Daniel Guzman added a rushing touchdown for the Barons.
Defensively, Ashton Ross and Corey Hall led Bleckley County in tackles.
