COCHRAN- The Bleckley County Middle School Barons came up just short Thursday against Johnson County, falling 18-16 after a strong second-half battle.
Coach Alex Garnto said the Barons came out slow in the first half but fought hard down the stretch and gave themselves a chance late in the game.
Quarterback Ross Herrington threw two touchdown passes for Bleckley County, with Daniel Guzman on the receiving end of both scores.
Defensively, Ashton Ross led the Barons in tackles.
The two-point margin marked another close game for Bleckley County as the Barons continue through the early part of their season.
