TELFAIR COUNTY — The Bleckley County Middle School Lady Barons battled Telfair County in a tight contest before Telfair broke the game open late for a 7-1 victory.
Bleckley held a 1-0 advantage at the top of the third inning and maintained the lead as the two teams fought through a close game.
The momentum shifted in the sixth inning, when Telfair’s offense came alive. Telfair pushed across seven runs to take a 7-1 lead and went on to secure the win.
Despite the final score, the Lady Barons kept Telfair off the scoreboard through the first five innings and carried the lead deep into the game.
