COCHRAN — The Bleckley County Sheriff’s Office has obtained arrest warrants for a Cochran man following an investigation into a hit-and-run collision that occurred July 19.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded at approximately 10 p.m. to the intersection of U.S. Highway 87 and Georgia Highway 257 after receiving a report of a hit-and-run involving a limousine.

Following an investigation, authorities obtained arrest warrants Friday for Shawn Joseph Biron, 56, of Cochran.

Biron has been charged with:

  • Hit and Run
  • Failure to Render Aid
  • Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign

Deputies attempted to serve the warrants but learned Biron is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility. According to the sheriff’s office, he will be taken into custody upon his release.
