COCHRAN — Families planning to sign up for fall soccer still have time to register as the Cochran-Bleckley Recreation Department has shared additional details about the upcoming season.
Registration for the fall soccer program will remain open through Aug. 9, with a $60 registration fee.
According to the recreation department, practices are expected to begin around the week of Aug. 17, with games scheduled to start on Sept. 8. Games will generally be played on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the season.
The regular season is expected to conclude on Oct. 8, with some age groups having the opportunity to compete in an end-of-season tournament on Oct. 9 or 10.
Players selected for All-Star teams will begin practicing during the week of Oct. 19, with the District All-Star Tournament scheduled to begin on Nov. 14.
The recreation department also noted that soccer and football/cheer seasons run at the same time, making it difficult for children to participate in both. However, because fall baseball and softball begin near the end of the soccer season, many athletes are able to participate in both sports unless they are selected for a soccer All-Star team.
Parents with questions are encouraged to contact the Cochran-Bleckley Recreation Department. Registration information is available at www.cbrdrecreation.com, and families are encouraged to register before the Aug. 9 deadline.
