COCHRAN — Community members enjoyed an evening of friendly competition while supporting a local cause Monday as the Cochran-Bleckley County Chamber of Commerce hosted its monthly Bingo Night at Chamber Commons.
The event benefited Promise of Hope Ministries’ food pantry, with participants encouraged to bring canned food items to help restock pantry shelves. The ministry has identified canned vegetables as one of its greatest current needs.
Players competed for prizes donated by local businesses while enjoying snacks, drinks and plenty of laughs throughout the evening. Five-card bingo sets were available for purchase, with proceeds helping support the event.
Businesses sponsoring prizes included ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve), ARD Propane Inc., Lickity Split, McDaniel Pharmacy, The Tomato Shack, Dr. Lynn Mullis, DDS, The Wellness Company, NewJUS, Universal Painting and Coldwell Banker Free Realty.
The monthly Bingo Night has become a popular community event, bringing residents together for affordable, family-friendly entertainment while highlighting local businesses and supporting community organizations.
Promise of Hope Ministries thanked the community for helping make a difference through donations to the food pantry, noting that contributions of multiple cans of the same vegetable are especially helpful in meeting the needs of local families.
