From dinosaurs and downtown music to public meetings and family activities, July is packed with events across Cochran and Bleckley County, according to a community calendar shared by the Cochran-Bleckley County Chamber of Commerce and The Bleckley Progress.
The month continues with an UNO Tournament on July 7. Families can head to the Tessie W. Norris/Bleckley County Library at 10 a.m. July 8 for Diggery’s Dino Adventure, an interactive dinosaur-themed program for children.
On July 11, the community can enjoy Dr. Bill’s Kids Summer Bash beginning at 10 a.m., followed that evening by Second Saturday Live Music & Food Trucks in downtown Cochran at 6:30 p.m.
The Bleckley County Recreation Department Board meets at 5:30 p.m. July 13, while the Bleckley County Board of Education will meet at 5:30 p.m. July 16. Later that evening, downtown will host a Super Downtown Scavenger Hunt beginning at 6 p.m.
On July 20, the Cochran-Bleckley County Chamber of Commerce will host Bingo Night at 6 p.m., while parents of incoming ninth- and 12th-grade students are invited to attend Royal University for Parents at 6 p.m. in the Bleckley County High School auditorium.
The month concludes with the Downtown Development Authority Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. July 21, followed by Royal University for Parents for families of incoming 10th- and 11th-grade students at 6 p.m.
The calendar also notes that the Cochran Farmers Market is open every Saturday in July from 8-11 a.m., unless otherwise noted.
Residents are encouraged to check the calendar regularly and support the many organizations hosting events throughout the month.
