Decorate your golf cart and show off your patriotic spirit during the Fourth of July Golf Cart Parade, part of Cochran’s Stars, Stripes & Summer Nights celebration on Saturday, July 4.
The parade will begin in downtown Cochran, with lineup starting at 6:30 p.m. and the parade stepping off at 7 p.m.
Hosted as part of the community’s Independence Day festivities, the parade is open to participants of all ages. Walkers are also welcome to join the celebration. Organizers encourage participants to decorate their golf carts in patriotic red, white and blue for a chance to win awards.
Categories include Most Patriotic, Most Creative, Funniest, Best Group or Family, and Judges’ Choice. Winners will receive ribbons, prizes and bragging rights.
No motorized vehicles other than golf carts will be permitted in the parade.
The golf cart parade is one of several activities planned throughout the day, including a fly-in, bicycle parade, Liberty Run, classic car cruise-in, barbecue cook-off, peach cobbler competition, homemade ice cream contest, live entertainment and fireworks.
