Backyard pitmasters, families and grill masters are invited to show off their skills during the Fourth of July Grill-Off Competition, part of Cochran’s Stars, Stripes & Summer Nights celebration on Saturday, July 4.
The competition begins at 5 p.m. in downtown Cochran and is open to individuals, families and groups. Participants will prepare their entries on-site for a chance to earn prizes, ribbons and bragging rights.
Judging categories include Best Ribs, Best Pork, Best Beef, Most Adventurous, Most Patriotic and Non-Meat. Organizers encourage competitors to bring their favorite recipes and showcase their creativity while celebrating Independence Day.
According to the event rules, participants must bring their own grill, tools and ingredients. Cooking space will be provided, and all entries must be grilled on-site. Entries must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on July 4, with advance registration recommended.
The Grill-Off is one of several activities planned during Cochran’s Independence Day celebration, which also includes a bicycle parade, golf cart parade, Liberty Run, fly-in, classic car cruise-in, peach cobbler competition, homemade ice cream contest, live entertainment, food vendors and fireworks.
